Poverty is wrong. Poverty is immoral.
Consumer demand drives the economy. Consumer demand improves when more people spend more money. An increase in minimum wage would mean more people with higher incomes which would directly increase consumer demand and therefore the economy.
The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.
But, is freedom from the absence of necessity also a right?
